PCHD is a non-profit community development organization empowering youth, women, and families through education, skills training, and wellness support.
How do we work
Shaped by years of experience with diverse communities and their educators, PCHD drives change by bringing together real-world solutions, evidence-based programming, and collaborative partnerships. We listen closely to youth, women, and families, then design practical, community-led initiatives that strengthen resilience, expand opportunity, and build long-term well-being.

Funding & Strategic Partnerships
Shaped by years of experience with diverse communities and their educators, PCHD drives change by bringing together real-world solutions, evidence-based programming, and collaborative partnerships. We listen closely to youth, women, and families, then design practical, community-led initiatives that strengthen resilience, expand opportunity, and build long-term well-being.
Programs & Innovation
PCHD delivers a holistic package of programs—education and skills development, youth empowerment and mentorship, women’s economic advancement, health and wellness support, community engagement, and crisis assistance. We apply the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) model to continuously improve these initiatives, using data, feedback, and learning to refine what we do. By integrating relief, recovery, and development, we design solutions that respond to real needs while building long-term resilience and self-reliance.
Partnering with Local Communities
Meaningful change happens when communities are in the lead. PCHD prioritizes community-driven and preventive interventions, working closely with youth, women, families, and local leaders to identify priorities, co-design programs, and assess results. Whether in Edmonton or in Somali communities abroad, we aim to be an authentic, ethical partner—amplifying local voices, strengthening local capacities, and ensuring that individuals and communities are active agents in shaping their own futures.
